While still a worthy watch, there once was a time when Groundhog Day was about the only time loop movie. While the time loop movies genre isn’t exactly overflowing now, there are definitely a lot more options than there used to be. All it took was a little . . . time.
It usually consists of a character reliving a day or experience over and over and over again and they usually have to complete some sort of task to escape the loop. Whether a comedy, romance, horror, thriller, or sci-fi, it’s clear that time loop plots can work in just about every genre.
